Take a look at the template I used to build this site in dreamweaver
Design by Gerhard Erbes. I usually build my sites from scratch using dreamweaver but I also like to use a great CSS template now and then. It is a great way to pick things apart and learn how to do them at the feet of master site builders. If you butcher it you can always start over with a fresh download from www.oswd.org
More stie template resources:
One of the biggest sources for inexpensive templates you can customize is Template monster. You may want to buy a template and have someone refine it.
There are some great examples of this at template tuning These sites ar very professional looking and depending on what you need they might be just right.
The problem with these types of sites is you need to know flash and or dreamweaver to use them or hire a designer. Then you are stuck callingsomeone else every time you need a change. this leads to sites that are very pretty but static. this type of site does not get updated often for the search engines.
A better option may be an online site builder you can control yourself
Check out the do it yourself page or my design page for set up and training on do it yourself sites.
You can build sites "from scratch" or start with a template. I have tried front page, first page, and dreamweaver.
I personally like dreamweaver best because it just is the best! There I said it. I'm a snob for adobe products. You may hate doing it yourself and you can always hire someone to do the work for you but give it a try. You might be surprised to find that you like designing your own site.
Alternately, there are many free and low cost online site builders you can use to help you. The best part about building your own site is that you get be in control of when things get done. read more
